COSMOLEDO FISHING REPORT WEEK 5
The start of week five had everyone hoping that the red crab had been blown far away from the previous week’s strong winds. This week we welcomed 12 anglers from varying states in the USA.
Winter Visit
It was a great pleasure to make the short trip north to visit the Reykjavik office and the Aurora Lodge team this week.

his week was a quiet week with only a handfull of anglers visiting Alphonse Island. However, that didn’t stop them and everyone fished really well catching some great fish throughout the course of the week.

Week three started of with some nice spring tide going into some neap tides. On arrival all the gear was set up and we gave the group some tips on what to do on the water and what to expect during the weeks fishing from Astove Atoll.

What an incredible week of fishing we had this week. We were greeted by a group of guests who have been coming to Alphonse since the very beginning. This week was one of their standout weeks and was definitely a week to remember, with some incredible catches and great weather.

We had high hopes going into week three on Cosmo, we were looking forward to spring tides and hopefully, hungry fish!

It was another spectacular week here on Farquhar as again multiple target species were landed. With the weather starting to settle it made for a great week.

The start of week two was set to be great week with exciting spring tide and a group that had been planning this trip for over two years

This week was a week to remember with countless numbers of firsts and an awesome group of guests. The Irish Party kept the guides on their toes.

This week’s weather tested the guides and guest with conditions ranging from perfect days, to windy days, to rainy days and with some absolute scorchers thrown in the mix as well. Dropping into the neap tides also didn’t help the cause, we did however, have a phenomenal week of fishing with some really great catches by our guests.

Week two on Farquhar saw the wind dropping considerably! Meaning we were able to venture out to enjoy the Atoll to its fullest. The majority of the guests were GT focused.

This week started with some of the best conditions we have had so far this season where the tides provided great giant trevally fishing opportunities, with lots of fish being seen and caught throughout the week.
EAST RANGA 2021 REPORT
As luck would have it international travel resumed with a list of ever changing tests and forms. As we battled to keep abreast of these the Salmon were making their way back to Iceland to visit the mighty East Ranga river system.

The opening week of the 2021- 2022 Farquhar season got off to an incredible start with some great catches throughout our guests.

This week’s fishing started off looking gloomy weatherwise, but the conditions turned in our favour with some stunning days. We were graced with the first westerly winds signalling the end of the ever-blowing southeast wind and calmer conditions to come.

We were blessed with impeccable weather once again this week, with lovely sunny days on the flats. This week’s anglers caught the last few days of spring tides and finished off with neaps providing them with great fishing conditions.

The weather Gods were on our side this week with windless days and sunny skies. The spring tides had all the guides hopeful for a good week with lots of surf walks planned and completed.

Week two started off tough, with lots of rain, wind and low visibility on the first three days. The tides were in neaps, and although this presents more of a challenge, the guides and guests persisted through and with improving conditions, some excellent catches were recorded.

After a long awaited return the Alphonse Fishing Company fishing season has finally opened and we are more excited than ever before! The weather God definitely treated us this week with sunny skies all the way through.
