GET YOUR TACKLE CLEANED

We have recently had notification from the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority (MAST) that from January 2021 there has been an important amendment to the laws surrounding the importation of used fishing tackle to Iceland. To simplify it now means that the lodges can carry out disinfection on arrival before fishing. Whilst the service is still going to be available on request at Keflavik it means for the majority of our arriving anglers there is no need for a veterinary certificate or disinfection service at the airport. We will carry out disinfection for all tackle on arrival at East Ranga and other lodges will do the same. The preservation of the pristine waters of Iceland is as important to us as it is to Iceland and we will comply fully with the guidance as set out by MAST. We will update the news section with full details of the process once we have been advised. Nothing will change in terms of the protection of our rivers but it will be one less hurdle to travel when arriving at Keflavik airport.
