PROVIDENCE FISHING REPORT
This week, we were lucky enough to host two wonderful couples: Heggie and Julie W, and Sam and Kate G. Although the weather posed some challenges throughout the week, it didn’t dampen the spirits or enthusiasm of our anglers. The fishing was nothing short of fantastic, and everyone left with incredible memories and some truly impressive catches.
For Sam, it was a week of firsts and major achievements. Having never caught a bumphead parrotfish before, Sam was eager to make it happen. Not only did he succeed in landing one of these incredible creatures before lunch on the very first day, but he also managed to land a solid 91 cm giant trevally that same afternoon—what a start to the trip! As the week went on, Sam’s luck continued. He landed several more GTs, with most of them in the high 90 cm range, and even added three Triggerfish to his tally. Sam’s persistence and skill were on full display throughout the week, making his experience truly unforgettable. Kate, Sam’s wife, was equally impressive. She caught her first bumphead parrotfish, marking a major milestone in her fishing journey. Along with that, she had some fantastic action with the GTs, landing several of her own, and managing a couple of triggerfish. Her excitement and passion for fishing were evident every step of the way, and she was thrilled with her accomplishments throughout the trip.
As for Heggie, he dominated the big fish category in a truly remarkable way. Not only did he land two giant trevally over the one-meter mark, including a stunning 104 cm and a 102 cm, but he also achieved the coveted Flats Slam in a single day. Heggie caught a triggerfish, a GT, and a bonefish, completing his slam in impressive style. By the end of the week, Heggie had also added three triggerfish to his list of catches—an exceptional performance by any measure. Julie, Heggie’s wife, had a fantastic week as well. She started strong, landing a couple of impressive GTs, including a truly memorable 97 cm fish. In addition to her GTs, Julie also caught two triggerfish, showcasing her versatility and skill. The highlight of her week came in the final minutes of the first day, when she hooked and landed a massive bumphead parrotfish. It was an incredible catch and a thrilling way to start the trip—her excitement was palpable!
Overall, it was a week full of incredible fishing, beautiful memories, and exceptional camaraderie between all four anglers. Despite the challenging weather, everyone embraced the adventure and made the most of every opportunity that came their way. From the first catch to the last, this week was a testament to the thrill of fishing in some of the most beautiful waters in the world.
We want to extend a huge thank you to Sam, Kate, Heggie, and Julie for being such a wonderful group of anglers. Your passion, energy, and positive attitude made this week an absolute joy. We look forward to having you back for more unforgettable fishing adventures in the future!
