Scuba DIVING
The diving centre offers a range of PADI accredited dive courses as well as recreational dives and snorkelling excursions. E-learning is encouraged for those wishing to complete PADI dive courses with the dive centre, as this will maximize your diving time on the island. At Alphonse Island, one can often be surprised at the sheer abundance and size of fish in comparison to the Inner Islands. This is due to our isolation and subsequent lower fishing pressure.
CONSERVATION
Established in 2007, our Island Conservation Centre has ensured the key aspects of our ecosystem are well maintained and cared for. The Island Conservation Society (ICS) team offers activities such as turtle patrol, beach clean ups, giant tortoise viewing and feeding and bird-watching which guests are encouraged to join. Without their sound knowledge, our ecosystem on the atolls would not be what it is today.
FLATS LUNCH
There is something truly spectacular about heading out to a soft sand island with deck chairs and parasols for a fantastic lunch.
Feel the ocean’s gentle motion as the tide slowly slips over the golden sand and enjoy a delicious lunch whilst watching the the natural world fill the vast open space in front of you.
KAYAKING AND SNORKELLING
For a less pressured view of the magnificent under water world why not take out a kayak and cruise gently past feeding Manta Rays or take a guided snorkel trip to see how the stunning array of fish is interwoven with the precious coral reefs. There is often as much to be seen from the surface as there is from below. Alphonse Island is well equipped with the latest equipment to help ensure you have the best possible experience.
SWIMMING WITH SAILFISH
A truly unique opportunity, to climb into the water and swim with the fastest fish in the ocean. These gentle giants are stunning to view from just below the surface as they navigate around you with perfect precision.
